Maui Solar Energy Systems is a subsidiary company of Maui Builders, Inc., a general building contractor on Maui for 25 years, building high-end luxury homes and commercial improvements. As a general contractor, we are familiar with all aspects of the work involved in designing, specifying, contracting, installing and maintaining all aspects of a building, not simply the electrical portion.

Photovoltaic solar systems add weight to a roof and they impact the roofing membrane, or coverings, to a degree which requires experience and resources, to properly coordinate and implement. We do not need to seek advice or out-source any of the work since as a general contractor, this is naturally what we do every day -from drywall repair and painting (for interior conduit installation) welding, roofing repairs and complete new roofs, racking assembly, inverter mounts and electrical wiring. Only a general contractor can comfortably deal with all aspects of installing a system that bolts to a roof structure or is placed on concrete piers. Maui Solar Energy Systems is the only general building contractor on Maui with a Photovoltaic License (C60). We specialize in larger, more difficult and commercial projects but are happy to provide the same quality service for any size residential project as well.

Maui Solar Energy Systems has been trained and certified in all aspects of photovoltaic installations and is duly licensed in the state of Hawaii to design and install PV systems. We employ only the best employees and subcontractors and have the highest regard for the integrity of the systems we design and install.

Maui Solar Energy Systems is a distributor of Sanyo HIT Hybrid Photovoltaic Modules on Maui. Sanyo is the most efficient module on the market today and has the smallest size and weight in its’ class. We also exclusively use the award winning Fronius IG Plus Inverters and UniRac, SunFrame racking systems for the cleanest and most attractive installations obtainable.
